Rottwielers, despite their reputation as vicious, are actually kind, devoted and peaceful dogs; viciousness comes from abuse, neglect
and irresponsible ownership. Their exceptional strength is a potential hazard, though. It is therefore deemed mandatory for
Rottwielers to receive formal training as well as socialization. A Rottwieler loves its owner, but aree strongly protective
of its territory and will not welcome strangers unless they are properly introduced, thus requiring obedience training.
A 2008 AKC study found Rottwielers average in terms of aggresiveness in terms of bites or attempted bites; however, it showed
aggresiveness to be above average toward strangers, due to their territorial and watchdog instincts.
